New Video

This is an announcement video that we made last week. For some reason, when I uploaded it to youtube, the background music turned off. But just imagine it with "You're the Best" as the background music from Karate Kid.

Yo Gabba Gabba

This is one of my favorite "kiddie" shows that I watch with Parker. It was started by a guy who is the singer of a band I listened to about 10 years ago, the Aquabats. Check them out by the way. But they get a lot of cool stuff and cool people to come and be a part of the show. Way better than Telletubbies.

Child Turns Mom in for Driving Drunk

This is a very sad video about kids having to turn their parents in for driving drunk. It makes me sad that some kids have to be responsible for their parents' actions. I put this video up because I think it is interesting, and I pray that something happens that will help their parents see that they need to take care of their children.

Montgomery Flea Market

Here is the greatest commercial ever made. This video has gone around a lot. I saw it for the first time about 2 years ago. But I thought I should put it up because I just watched it again and fell in love all over again.

Here is a spoof my friend Ryan did.

Donald Miller Prayer at Democratic Party

Donald Miller closed one of the nights with prayer. I think a lot of Donald Miller, and I love his books. I think it was cool that he had this opportunity. The sound cuts out for a minute though.

Here's the full prayer from his website.

"Father God,

This week, as the world looks on, help the leaders in this room create a civil dialogue about our future.

We need you, God, as individuals and also as a nation.

We need you to protect us from our enemies, but also from ourselves, because we are easily tempted toward apathy.

Give us a passion to advance opportunities for the least of these, for widows and orphans, for single moms and children whose fathers have left.

Give us the eyes to see them, and the ears to hear them, and hands willing to serve them.

Help us serve people, not just causes. And stand up to specific injustices rather than vague notions.

Give those in this room who have power, along with those who will meet next week, the courage to work together to finally provide health care to those who don’t have any, and a living wage so families can thrive rather than struggle.

Hep us figure out how to pay teachers what they deserve and give children an equal opportunity to get a college education.

Help us figure out the balance between economic opportunity and corporate gluttony.

We have tried to solve these problems ourselves but they are still there. We need your help.

Father, will you restore our moral standing in the world.

A lot of people don’t like us but that’s because they don’t know the heart of the average American.

Will you give us favor and forgiveness, along with our allies around the world.

Help us be an example of humility and strength once again.

Lastly, father, unify us.

Even in our diversity help us see how much we have in common.

And unify us not just in our ideas and in our sentiments—but in our actions, as we look around and figure out something we can do to help create an America even greater than the one we have come to cherish.

God we know that you are good.

Thank you for blessing us in so many ways as Americans.

I make these requests in the name of your son, Jesus, who gave his own life against the forces of injustice.

Let Him be our example.

Amen."

Here is the card trick that I did for Impact on Wed. Night.
I think I did it better.

Stuart Appleby

I had never heard of this guy until yesterday morning while I was watching Sportscenter. Parker was having his swimming lesson, so I was inside waiting for him to be done. (I can't watch him because he wouldn't do what Carol wants him to do because he would just want to play with me, so I watch from the couch) Anyways, I watched this segment about a golfer from Australia who's caddy was his wife. Then his wife died...and he pretty much gave up golf. He's making a come-back, and I just thought this was an awesome story. This man went through something that I don't even want to imagine...and I feel for him, and really liked his story. So here it is.

Irena Sendler

This is a great story about a woman I had never heard of. I truly think this is a woman who lived like God wants us to. In Isaiah 1, God says that we should seek justice, take care of the oppressed, care for the widows and the fatherless. She put other above herself, and truly had love for others. I don't know if she was a Christian or not, but she definitely lived as an example that we could follow.

Youtube Shows Guilt

Last weekend, some of our high school boys stayed in our youth room all night. It's a group called "All the Kings Men." One of the seniors leads this group, which is a discipleship group of the core boys. The senior high pastor was out of town, but he gave them permission to stay in the youth room since it was the core boys who are on the leadership team. Basically, there only rule was to not go outside. About 3 a.m. the police were knocking on the door. Apparently, when the senior was sleeping, some of the guys went out and climbed up onto the roof. Somebody saw them and called the police.
But not only that, but they left proof of them emptying our helium tank that we use for balloons on youtube. It's weird to me that kids just don't think. Whatever thought goes in their head is done. But then, I'm reminded about some of the stuff I was pulling and getting away with when I was 15 or 16, and I wonder what in the world was I thinking. Anyways, I think these guys did enough that they'll never have another night where they can stay in the youth room.
Here's the video, and I just don't understand why kids incriminate themselves on youtube.

Neon Horse-Cuckoo

This is a pretty new band that was suggested to me by Jeff Roussin. Neon Horse is on Tooth and Nail and is one of the coolest bands that I've heard in a while. The video is so weird. I love it. It reminds me of the new wave videos of the 80's.

Billy Goat Prank Calls

Yeah!

Although this video is definitely planned, it's still hilarious. Sometimes I get urges to do something like this to a complete stranger. Luckily, I have never acted out on these urges.
